So God gave him extra time on earth to love his Miss Tricia, his kids, his Oklahoma, and once more for his fans. When he was ready, he closed his eyes. Now, when you hear the thunder, that would be Toby playing 'Red Solo cup' in heaven. Proceed to party Big Dog.

❤ I have rewound and watched Toby's performance at the CMA at least hundreds of times, but each time I watch it I try very hard to put myself in Toby's shoes as he sang the words to "Don't Let The Old Man In", but I still can't imagine how extremely hard that was for him to sing it, considering all Toby had already gone through and what he was facing ahead of him. He said he was not nervous performing it, but watch him very closely as he sings each line, an you can tell the song is really hitting home with him. Then at the end he takes a very deep breath as a sigh of relief that he made it all the way through it. And how ironic, he passed away just a few months later. I truly think he was relating so closely to it as he sang it. I just can't imagine what was going through his mind and how very difficult it was for him to perform it live. But that truly showed the bravery that Toby showed right up to the very end. You are now in God's choir and singing for God now. Rest in eternal peace Toby, you have truly earned it "Big Dog", and now you're a "Cowboy" riding the range in Heaven. We will forever honor, miss, and remember you, an all you gave to us. Your beautiful voice will be with us forever and you will live on as a "Legend in your own time". Very sadly missed by your loving family, countless friends, and loyal fans.
